You may think someone with a household name who has sold millions of records has it made– but not Grammy-winning singer Toni Braxton. She’s filing for bankruptcy a second time and currently starring in the reality TV show “Braxton Family Values” that follows the singer and her family. She told TV Guide that her royalties from her first two albums totaled less than $2,000.

Braxton hopes her reality show will dispel the myth that she’s spending wildly. The show premiered on WEtv back in April. “Everyone knows Toni Braxton’s bankrupt—dot dot dot—again,” she told the magazine. “But when I talk about the second bankruptcy versus the first bankruptcy, what a lot of people don’t know is…that my royalty statement after I sold all those records, ‘Un-Break My Heart,’ was less than $2,000. But I couldn’t talk about it because there was this big gag order.”

This second bankruptcy for Braxton comes more than a decade after the first. According to TMZ, a gossip website, Braxton completed a required instruction course about personal financial management. The course was a requirement of her bankruptcy. Braxton also blames her money problems on a bought with lupus that forced her to cancel tour dates and shows in Vegas. “I had to cover myself so all those vendors wouldn’t come after me,” she told the magazine. “It was a protection.”
